Alan Quireyns studied Art Scienes at the University of Ghent and the Freie Universität in Berlin. He graduated with a thesis about the influence of the Situationists and the use of new media on the work of the German artist Jochen Gerz (°1940). He also studied conservation managment of contemporary art in the Royal Academy in Ghent. In 2006 he started to work as artistic and financial coordinator for AIR Antwerpen, a residency project in Antwerp. He also worked at the Sint-Lukasgallery in Brussels. In 2008 he worked as assistant curator in Extra City, Center for Contemporary Arts in Antwerp. Currently he’s independent curator and writer, working in Antwerp. He’s working on the idea of the Everyday in the visual arts.
Ilke De Vries is videoartist. She studied visual arts at the Sint-Lucas Antwerp and film at the Academy in Antwerp. In her work she’s researching the giving of sense in human life and its fundamental emotions and behaviour. In 2008 she had a solo show in Conflict Room, Antwerp. She participated in groupshows like “Strategies of Confidence”, NICC, Antwerp,2009; “The Final Frontier”, Base-Alpha Gallery, Antwerp, 2008; “Found/Gevonden/Trouvé”, Voorkamer, Lier, 2008; “Pre Sensation”, Lokaal 01, Breda, 2007; “Hermitage”, Helmond, 2007; “Little Big Factory Camp”, Artis, Den Bosch, 2006; “Posuto Sant Yoosuto!”, Irregular Rhythm Asylum, Communication Center, Tokio.
Michaël Heene is laywer, currently working at Linklaters in Antwerp. He graduated in law at the University of Ghent and specialised in the University of Sorbonne in Paris. He also worked for Allen & Overy (Brussels) and B. Moreau avocats (Paris).
Jürgen Ots is visual artist. He studied at the Sint-Lukas in Brussels. His work exists of sculptures, installations and prints. He likes to work on the borders of these different media. In his work he’s researching the changing of fysical features of materials. He’s doing this by different alchemist actions, but also tearing, stabbing, burning, etc. The pieces are metaphors of our contemporary reality. Jürgen Ots followed residencies in Amsterdam (Rijksacademy, 2007); Iceland; Paris (Cité des Arts); Frankfurt (Kulturunker) and the Atlantic Center for the Arts in Florida. He showed in Gallery Klerkx in Milan, Komplot in Brussels, Cité-Action in Assenede and the Biennial of Brussels.
